Charlotte Diamond resides with her family in Richmond, near Vancouver, British Columbia, on the West Coast of Canada. Born and raised there, she graduated from the University of B.C., majoring in Zoology and French. She took further studies at Laval University, Quebec, in French Language and taught science, French and music at the junior-high school level for 12 years.

Charlotte has had a life-long interest in music. She sang with local folk groups, including performing intro sets for Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton.  When her own children came along, she began singing and writing songs for them and also developed a preschool music program in her community. This led to performances for her children's parent-participation preschool, which mushroomed into requests for workshops, school concerts and family shows around Vancouver and throughout British Columbia.  

Charlotte proceeded with the independent production and release of her debut album, "10 Carrot Diamond", which won the Juno Award (equivalent of a Grammy)! "10 Carrot Diamond" became a Certified Gold Record in Canada and also won a Parents’ Choice Classic Award and an American Library Association Award in the U.S.A. Her career turned professional and international overnight! Songs such as, "Four Hugs a Day", "Each of us is a Flower" and "Octopus" (Slippery Fish) started to become a regular part of classroom and family life.

Charlotte presently has thirteen recordings, a string of international awards, two nationally televised videos, and tours throughout Canada and the U.S.A. She has also had three concert tours to Costa Rica, on the invitation of the First Lady of Costa Rica,  UNICEF and the Canadian Embassy. Both of Charlotte's latest CD's, "Charlotte Diamond's World" and "Nous sommes tous comme les fleurs"(in French), have received Juno Award Nominations for Best Children's Recording and "Charlotte Diamond's World" is a Parents' Choice Honors winner.

Charlotte Diamond has been awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal in recognition of her exemplary support of UNICEF since 1994, as well as being named a "Paul Harris Fellow" by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, "in appreciation of significant assistance given to the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world."

Children’s health and development are other areas of interest for Charlotte. She often performs for the Variety Club Telethon, Show of Hearts; and she wrote the theme song, "You Can Make a Miracle" (from Diamonds and Dragons) for B.C. Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon.

As well as being fluent in French, Charlotte has a great love of Spanish. She translated many of her popular songs into Spanish and recorded "Soy una Pizza", which won an American Library Association Award. "Charlotte has recently released a second CD in Spanish, "Todo el Mundo Come Banana". Her 88-page Music Book,  "Charlotte Diamond’s Musical Treasures", Is a Canadian Best Seller and includes 22 of her best known songs in English, French and Spanish. This book gives suggestion of activities for home and classroom plus sign language and actions to accompany the songs. A second book "A World of Music with Charlotte Diamond" , won the Our Choice Award from the Canadian Childrens Book Centre.

Seventeen of Charlotte’s best-known songs have been scored for Symphony Orchestra by Frederick Schipizky of the VSO. She has performed this successful program across Canada in Vancouver (twice), Victoria, Kamloops, Calgary, Edmonton (four times), Winnipeg, Mississauga (twice) and Hamilton.  She has also performed her Symphony concert  in San Jose, California and Omaha, Nebraska in the U.S.A.

Charlotte’s first love is performing for children, but she is also becoming well known for her Workshops and Keynote Presentations for educators of young children. She has presented many times at the NAEYC Conference (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and Kindergarten and Primary Teachers’ Conferences across Canada and the U.S.A. Charlotte has developed an innovative Method for the successful introduction of music to young children, called the PRIZE Method (using Props, Rhythm, Imagination, Zipper and Echo Songs). She has two sons, Matthew (31) and Thomas (28), who continue to help their mom with the writing of new songs. In the preparation of "Diamonds and Dragons", Matthew co-wrote "Slimy the Slug" and Thomas inspired "Dicky Dinosaur", a prehistoric rap song. Matt plays lead guitar and writes his own music now. Tom is an apprentice in carpentry with an interest in theatre stage design and construction. Charlotte's husband, Harry, was a commercial salmon fisherman for 20 years, but, with his degree in accounting and business, he is now managing her career and record company full-time.
